30.03.12Final Moto3 Test sees Kent on fighting form
At the final Moto3 test in Jerez on 19-21 March, factory Red Bull KTM Ajo rider Danny Kent maintained his impressive pre-season form. The Tetbury-based rider proved yet again that he is in good shape ahead of the opening GP in Qatar.
During the first two days his best lap time was third fastest among his fellow Moto3 contenders, while on Wednesday he improved his best lap to post the second fastest time, clocking an impressive personal best of 1.47.262 in the afternoon despite a high-speed crash.
Luckily, Kent remained injury-free and the crash did little to dent the 18-year-old’s confidence, as he returned to the track on fighting form, with only Maverick Vinales on the Avintia Racing FTR Honda ahead of him.
Kent was pleased with the result: “It has been another good test and I’m really happy. At the start of the week I didn’t feel quite as confident as I did in the last Jerez test, but we changed the set-up back to three weeks ago and I made a big step forward. Now I am going to Qatar for the first race with a lot of confidence but keeping my feet on the ground”.
